The 2021 continues with the sixth-generation body style and platform (GM's Alpha platform, the same as the ATS, CTS, CT4 and CT5 vehicles). This generation stiff and lighter foundation is well suited for a performance car.
The Camaro will be available in the following trims: 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS and ZL1 coupe or convertible soft-top. The options are a 2.0L turbocharged four puts out an impressive 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, a 3.6L V6 features cylinder deactivation for 335 horsepower and 284 -pound-feet of torque. The 6.2L V8 makes a 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. It also includes cylinder deactivation. The ZL1 supercharged makes 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feetlb-ft of torque.
With minor changes from the 2020 models, the 1LS Camaro offers standard automatic headlights with LED daytime running lights and, 18-inch alloy wheels. Included inside are 8-way driver and 4-way passenger power-adjustable cloth seats. A rear-vision camera, performance data recorder, cruise control and tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel. The tech features are Bluetooth and 4G LTE WiFi connectivity and Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment on a 7-inch touchscreen. To make your drive better under different conditions, the adjustable engine Drive Mode Selector is standard in all trims.
The 1LT includes paddle shifters when equipped with the automatic transmission. The 2LT adds heated and ventilated leather front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Both the 1SS and the 1LT trim come with a powerful V-8, but also adds rear spoiler, LED taillights, quad exhausts. Upgraded brakes and suspension, and a Track mode is added to the Drive Mode Selector. The 1SS has run-flat performance tires and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
The 2SS Camaro includes everything on the 2LT and adds heated auto-dimming outside power mirrors with tilt down curb view, illuminated sill plates, wireless cellphone charging, a heads-up display, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring.
The top trim, the Camaro ZL1 offers a supercharged V8, and features launch control. A 6-speed manual is standard, and 10-speed automatic is optional. On the ZL1, the 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package brings track-ready suspension dampers, a carbon-fiber hood and rear spoiler and 19-inch forged alloy wheels.
Some of the options for the 1LT and 2LT include the RS Package, which features appearance items like xenon headlights and LED taillights, 20-inch wheels and a unique grille. The 1LE Track Performance Package comes with improved suspension adaptive dampers, forged alloy wheels, Brembo brakes and Recaro sport seats.
